International Women’s Day Celebration and Fundraising Event at Brazil-021 Arlington Heights
In recognition of International Women’s Day, Brazil-021 School of Jiu-Jitsu will be hosting a special two-seminar event at our Arlington Heights location on March 6th, 2016. This event celebrates empowerment in women and the growth of female presence in the jiu-jitsu community, and it will provide support to our own female competitors. Professor Hannette Staack and brown-belt instructors, Sharon Gosun, Kristen Martin, and Kristin Mikkelson will share their knowledge in women’s self-defense and competitive Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. This event will serve as a fundraiser for our female competitors dedicated to competing at the highest level and representing our jiu-jitsu family to the world! 10 a.m. -12 p.m.- Women’s Self-Defense - Women will learn jiu-jitsu techniques for real self-defense scenarios. Participants of all skill levels are invited to attend, but especially those who have little or no experience in self-defense. Come discover how to protect yourself! All participants will also receive a free Brazil-021 shirt.
12 p.m.- 1 p.m. - Break – There will be a short, social break with light refreshments provided.
1 p.m. to 3 p.m.- Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (co-ed) - Each Instructor will share some of their favorite techniques that they have used on the international stage. Jiu-jitsu practitioners of all skill levels will learn competitive techniques and get the chance to apply them in training!
Price for one seminar: $60
Price for both seminars: $70
All proceeds from this event will go to help our female competitors in covering the costs of competition. Come support us as fellow women, jiu-jitsu practitioner, and community!
